MCP (Model Context Protocol)

An open protocol that lets AI assistants talk to external tools, data sources, and services in a standard way.

MCP servers expose capabilities (read files, query a DB, call an API) which the assistant can invoke as tools. Think of MCP as a USB-C port for LLMs.
