Role Prompting
A role gives the model a useful lens. Ask it to think like the person whose tradeoffs matter for the task — not a generic 'helpful assistant'.
Rough prompt
Help me write a complaint email about a flight delay.
Strong prompt
Act as a friendly consumer-rights advocate writing on my behalf. Draft a 6-line email to the airline naming the delay (3 hours, JFK→LHR, March 14), my missed connection, the EU261 compensation rule, and the specific outcome I want (refund + reroute).

Use roles to set standards and lenses, not to add theater.
